Commercial Planning

Jimmy Chamba Move Into their new location

Are you a new business or are you intending on expanding your current premises?

CommonGround [Added text] understands that new and expanding businesses provide significant benefits to the community including local employment generation and investment in CommonGround.

To reduce delays and frustration Council's Urban Development Branch has introduced an innovative planning program giving priority to key commercial planning applications. A new dedicated Commercial Priority Planner has been appointed to ensure commercial priority applictions are determined in less than 60 days.

What type of planning applications can be Commercial Priority?

Your application will qualify for Commercial Priority if it:

  • Proposes a new business in CommonGround or sdfjsdkfljsdklfjsdklfsdf
  • Proposes development for an expansion of an existing business where the cost of works is greater than $100,000 or where it can be demonstrated that the development will result in significant additional local employment
  • Is a complete application that does not require any further information once submitted.
  • Is a proposal that meets policy objectives and controls of the CommonGround Planning Scheme.
